Personally, I like the new Snow Leopard. I can't honestly say that the $35.00 price tag was warranted for slight imporvements, but... I certainly like the new look.
What new look, you say?
Well, I find that somehow it changed the colour tone of my iMac. The colours are now much more defined and much easier on the eyes. Also -- and here's a point no one has talked about yet -- a new link has been placed at the top for easy access for character and character keyboard. Very handy when needed.
Speed?
As for speed... I do find my system runs much smoother... however, I do not find a big difference in the overall speed. With Snow Leopard, my boot time is 6 seconds faster. (Not really a big deal.)
Exposé
Well first... here is a great example putting the new character reference to use -- the accent.
I just love the fact that Apple has now made exposé part of the dock. It makes searching for open documents a breeze.
All in all, I like the new Snow Leopard. I just think Apple could have handled this as a free update or service pack instead of charging $35.00 for it.
Tip: Snow Leopard does not load the 64 bit kernel by default. To load the 64 bit kernel, you must reboot your computer. While the computer is rebooting, hold down the #4 and #6 keys. This will then boot Snow Leopard into 64 bit.
Would love to hear your thoughts on Snow Leopard.
